How about that Amstel Gold Race? This week on CyclingTips we dove into Mathieu van der Poel’s win with a number of interesting feature articles. We had sports scientist Zach Nehr breaking down van der Poel’s power data from the race, we had our editor-at-large Neal Rogers offer a detailed analysis of how the unlikely win came about, and then there was a lovely gallery of photos from the race courtesy of Kristof Ramon.
Speaking of photo galleries, we also brought you the grit and gravel of Tro-Bro Leon, a race that only has a lowly UCI 1.1 ranking but that’s full of character.
The SHEcret Pro was back with her first column of the year, too, diving into the topics that are making conversation in the pro women’s peloton. And then there’s our tech coverage which this week included a look at some new GPS computers from Garmin, an updated groupset from Campagnolo, and a look at a custom shoemaker in Taiwan that’s making some pretty sweet one-of-a-kind kicks.
As always, make sure you check out the latest episode of the CyclingTips Podcast — this week on the terrific edition of Amstel Gold Race — plus a special Paris-Roubaix edition of our YouTube show, The Bunch.
