Garmin presents the compact GPS Edge 130 bike computer

Garmin has announced Edge 130, a compact, lightweight and rugged GPS bike computer with easy-to-use navigation and unique cycling awareness features.

“Do not be fooled by the dimensions of Edge 130: this cycling computer is full of features,” said Adam Howarth, General Manager Garmin Australasia.

“Not only does Edge 130 include navigation tools like Garmin Connect Course Creator and turn-by-turn directions, it’s also compatible with our line of Varia cycling awareness devices and includes a suite of intelligent features, all in a robust package . ”

Using GPS, GLONASS and Galileo satellites, in addition to a built-in barometer, the Edge 130 will provide more coverage and more accurate driving data so that cyclists know how far, fast and high they drive. Before leaving, riders can plan and unload their routes on the improved and improved Garmin Connect Course Creator, which uses Trendline’s popularity routing to provide cyclists the best road, mountain or gravel routes that are aggregated from those most followed by cyclists.

During a ride, the Edge 130 also provides easy-to-read course directions and audible turn signals that guide a rider on where to go next. If necessary, it will also direct users to their starting position.

Garmin says the Edge 130 smart connectivity capabilities will also reduce the need for cyclists to reach their phone. Text messages will appear on the device screen so that cyclists can see them at a glance and keep driving. A new weather page will show current and anticipated conditions, as well as weather warnings to help users get stuck in a downpour.

When paired with a compatible smartphone, Edge 130 automatically uploads to the Garmin Connect online fitness community and can be customized by downloading the configurable data fields from the Connect IQ archive.

Edge 130 offers up to 15 hours of battery life for $ 299. A bundle option, which includes speed and cadence sensors, is available for $ 349. A mountain bike package, which includes a mountain bike mount, a remote control for the edge and a silicone case is available for $ 349.
