Mads Wurtz-Schmidt took the honors in Lido di Fermo on Italy’s Adriatic coast after dominating the sprint at the head of a small group which broke away from the peloton early on in the sixth stage of Tirreno Adriatico. Back in the Israel Start-Up Nation car, team director Cherie Pridham celebrated the victory from the driver’s seat with an intense, historic shout of excitement that signaled the first time a female directed a win in the men’s WorldTour.
